Some of us were born "over there", but most of us are the descendants of those brave people, who had lived in and then emigrated from that magical, mountainous place, between the peaks of the Alps and the microclimate of Lake Garda. As the saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words...". Just imagine sitting on the shores of Lake Garda in the splendid little town of Riva del Garda (Province of Trento), where olive trees, palms, and citrus flourish in the foreground near the lake, with the snow-covered Alps hovering in the background, providing such a striking contrast. Where else on Earth could you possibly ski and swim on the same day? By climbing to the top of one the peaks of the Dolomites and sitting upon a glacier, on a clear day you can even see the Adriatic Sea shimmering in the distance. You are literally at the top of the World! At least it is about as close as one might ever get to being in Heaven, while still living upon Earth!
